Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a playback vocalist actor, actress and musician. She works primarily as an actor and a music composer for Tamil and Malayalam-language films. Her debut as an actress was the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam as well as her Malayalam debut with Annayum is in the film. Andrea Jeremiah is an Anglo-Indian born in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father works as an attorney in the Madras High Court. Her sister, who is younger, is a Belgian research assistant who has a job in Leuven. Jeremiah has a family close to Chennai and attended National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. She has said that she was a nerd and wanted to be a psychiatrist until she completed the 12th grade of her board exams.Andrea started playing the piano classically at the age of eight. At age 10 she was a part of a Jackson Five-style troupe called Young Stars which formed the basis of her first musical and singing career. The actress was also a stage performer in the college she attended and was a part of several shows staged through The Madras Players and EVAM. Then she was an EVAM Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her professional career performing in theater by appearing in Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. Andrea was in the 2006 leo commercial for coffee with Shiva. The actress was also part of a series that was broadcast on Podhigai. She has appeared in all parts of India. The brief appearance was in Kanda Mudhal's film's climax (2005). She performed a number of songs for Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu. He wanted her to join his main female characters on Pachaikili Muthucharam. The film was an adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed, with Andrea acting as Kalyani a homemaker whose husband gets involved in an affair, and is forced to confess. Andrea was picked for the role following Simran and Tabu, two actresses who were offered the role by the producers. The film was released in the beginning of 2010. It was announced in the year 2011 that she would perform a tiny character in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha that was released in August 2011, Her Malayalam film debut by playing Rajeev Rathi's Annayum Rasoolum in the year 2013.
